Onalaska Hockey

The seedings for WIAA State plaoyffs are in and the OHS Boys are Seeded #3 in Section 4. The top 6 seedings are:
1.) Sparta 2.) Wis Dells 3.) Onalaska 4.) Wis Rapids 5.) Aquinas 6.) Tomah. Sectional Playoff begins Next Tuesday February 16.

The Hilltoppers put together 3 more wins over the Holiday Week.

Onalaska 3 – Aquinas 1
The Hilltoppers beat Aquinas 3-1, getting goals from Bronston, Flood and Taylor. Sibik had 24 saves

Onalaska 3 – Aquinas 1
The Hilltoppers equaled their prior night getting 2 goals from Randy Burkhardt and a goal from Bronston. Noah White had 26 saves

Onalaska 4 Kettle Moraine/Muk 3 OT
Nathan Trannel got his 2nd goal of the night :37 seconds into OT as the Hilltoppers held of the Lasers. Hegley also had 2 goals on the night. Scott Sibik had 27 saves

The 2009 Alumni game was held at the OMNI on December 26. Over 30 Alumni skated.  Players included the 3 Bronston brothers, the Bakkesteun boys, Jordan Lounsbrough, Alex Aschenbrenner, Patrick Hengel and Mike Bottcher from the 07-08 20-0 WCHL Champs and Goalie Mark Wittchow, Mitch Liedle, Mike Bakkestuen, and Jordan Tredinnick from last years State Tourney team.  A great time was had by all.  Thanks Brian Morris for setting up the event again this year.

FYI: The Onalaska hockey alumni game will be held Dec. 26 @ 11AM at rink #1 at the omni center. We strongly wish to have in attendance, parents and community members who have supported hockey. Please help us spread the word of our wonderful celebration of hockey in Onalaska!

The Onalaska Hilltoppers made their 2009/10 Hockey debut in style Friday night beating the Beaver Dam Golden Beavers 8-1. Scott Sibik was a wall in the net, making several key saves to keep the Beaver in tack. Beaver Dam finally scored late on a break away.

On Saturday afternoon, the Toppers beat Baraboo 6-0. The Hilltoppers came out strong with 5 in the first, to take the game to run time early in the 2nd. Noah White got the shut-out for Onalaska.

The team travels to CHI HI Friday night.

There will be an OHS Hockey Parents Meeting on Monday November 16th at 6:30 p.m. at the OMNI center to go over the season’s events, dutie, etc.

We’ll be handing out GOLD tickets, assignments for working at games, and a sign up sheet for OHS Hockey Booster clothing!
