The Onalaska Boys Hockey team’s season came to an end Tuesday night at the hands of West Salem in front of almost 700 at the Omni Center. The #2 ranked Hilltoppers lost to the #3 ranked Panthers 2-3.
In a game that equal throughout, both teams took advantage of power plays, each scoring 2 power play goals. Taylor Trapp put West Salem on the board first with a power play goal at the 10:33 mark of the first. Onalaska countered in the 2nd when Senior Gabe Flood found the back of the net for a power play goal at the 6:15 mark of the 2nd. The Panthers would take the lead again at the 2:49 mark of the 2nd on a ppg by Hunter Meyer. Flood evened it up again with his 2nd goal of the night shortly after.
Shots were pretty even all night. Both teams had several opportunities to put the game away with odd man rushes.

Senior Ryan Aschenbrenner led the Hilloppers in the playoffs with 4 points. Senior Gabe Flood led the team in scoring this season with 34 goals and 17 assists for 51 points in 23 games this season.
